Accommodation

The hotels & centres shown below are typical examples of the most popular accommodation we can provide for your group.  This is not an exhaustive list as we can offer a wide range of accommodation types to suit your budget, ranging from 3* hotels to youth hostels. 

The majority of our accommodation in France & Belgium is owned & run by the Louvre Hotels (Campanile & Kyriad Hotels) or the Accor group (Ibis & Mercure Hotels).  We also use some independently-owned hotels.  In the Netherlands the Stayokay group provide much of our accommodation. 

All our accommodation is suitable for groups & a Risk Assessment Summary for each of the hotel or accommodation centre used will be provided to you upon booking.

The Menin Gate Hotel, Ypres 

Located in Ypres town centre opposite the Menin Gate, this superior hostel-style accommodation has been designed with youth groups in mind.

Students are accommodated in multi-bedded rooms with en-suite facilities in all rooms with staff in twin or single rooms. 

All rooms are fitted with smoke detectors & the fire alarm is connected directly to the local fire station

Evening meals are taken in a local restaurant with breakfast served on-site. The breakfast room can also be used by the group for evening presentations or follow-up work if required.

There is a games room with pool & bar football, small TV lounge & a number of internet computers.  Groups of more than 35 have sole use of the premises for the duration of their stay.  We use two other youth hotels in Ypres, the Poppies & Salient which are operated by the same proprietor & maintained to a similar standard.

The Old Abbey, Lo-Reninge (near Ypres)

Located close in the small town of Lo, the Old Abbey is 25 minutes drive from Ypres & 75 minutes from Calais & is an independently-owned hotel.

The accommodation consists of an original building of great character & set within its own grounds, together with a modern annexe designed with groups in mind.    

Students are accommodated in multi-bedded rooms with staff in twin or single rooms.  The original 3* hotel has four floors & accommodates up to eighty people in 34 rooms with en-suite facilities.

The annexe has three floors, accommodating 71 people in 17 rooms with en-suite facilities.  There is a lift to all floors.  Meals are taken in the hotel & there are two large dining & bar areas & a terrace area leading to the grounds.  There is a games area with a pool table & table football.

The Poppies, Albert (Somme) 

Located near the Town Hall in Albert, five minutes walk from the centre, this accommodation has been designed specifically for youth groups. There are 48 rooms with 186 beds on three floors with a capacity for three coach groups at any one time. Groups of 45 or more have sole use of one floor for the duration of their stay.

Students are accommodated in multi-bedded (usually quad) rooms with en-suite facilities in all rooms with staff in twin or single rooms. All rooms are fitted with smoke detectors & the fire alarm is connected directly to the local fire station

Evening meals are taken in a local restaurant with breakfast served on-site. The breakfast room can also be used by the group for evening presentations or follow-up work if required.  There is a games room with pool & bar football, small TV lounge & a number of internet computers.  Owned & operated by the same proprietor as the Menin Gate Youth Hotel in Ypres.

2* Kyriad & Campanile Hotels in Paris

Galina use a variety of good quality 2* hotels on the Paris peripherique.  Most of these hotels belong to the Kyriad & Campanile chains (Louvre Hotel Group).

Students are accommodated in twin & triple rooms with staff in twin or single rooms.  All rooms have en-suite facilities.

A buffet-style continental breakfast is included & groups can have their evening meal in the hotel restaurant although most prefer to eat in one of several restaurants we use in Paris to maximise the time available for evening sight-seeing.

Many of these hotels can offer the use of a room for evening activities.

Bon Séjour, Merville-Franceville, Normandy

Located in the village of Merville-Franceville & overlooking a sandy beach, Bon Séjour is a few miles to the north-east of Caen & ideally suited as a convenient base to explore the D-Day landing beaches, Bayeux or Caen itself. 

This centre has three floors with accommodation for up to 230 people in 70 rooms.  There is a lift to all floors.  Students are accommodated in multi-bedded rooms (4-7 beds) & with staff in twin or single rooms.  All rooms have en-suite facilities. 

Evening meals are taken in the centre's restaurant.  Other facilities include classrooms, a lounge, leisure & games area with outdoor activities including mini golf & tennis.  There is also a swimming pool open in the summer months.

Hippotel, Le Touquet, Opal Coast

Located in an attractive woodland environment half a mile from Le Touquet, the 2* Hippotel is conveniently situated for exploring the Opal Coast & visits to Boulogne & Calais.

Accommodation consists of a main hotel on three floors with 62 rooms, with either a terrace or balcony & nine apartments.

Students are accommodated in multi-bedded rooms; two to four students in the main hotel or four to six students in the apartments.  Staff are accommodated in twin or single rooms.  All rooms have en-suite facilities.  Groups accommodated in the hotel will have one wing to themselves.

Facilities include a restaurant & bar, meeting room & games room with a pool table.  Breakfasts & evening meals can both be taken on-site.

Stayokay Youth Hostels in the Netherlands

Youth hostels in the Netherlands have a high standard of cleanliness & facilities & have proven very popular with groups.  The most popular accommodation with our clients are the Stayokays at Apeldoorn & Doorwerth near Arnhem & Noordwijk near Amsterdam.    

Galina have established strong links with Stayokay in the Netherlands. Their accommodation centres are located throughout the country & are specifically designed for groups.

Students are accommodated in muti-bedded rooms all with en-suite facilities.  Staff are accommodated in twin or single rooms. 

Many centres have rooms available for evening work & several have indoor & outdoor leisure facilities for the students to use during their stay.  Evening meals are taken in the dining area & are of the buffet type. Packed lunches are provided.
