Arras - Possible Activities |
'City's Heart' pedestrian tour - a 50-minute (1900 metres) walk taking you from the Town Hall, via the two main squares, past the Pawnshop, the cathedral and Saint Vast Abbey. The route through Arras is marked by pavement studs. An ideal opportunity to practise language skills. |
| A guided tour of the 'Boves' - an underground network of cellars and passages that run below Place des Héros. The inhabitants of Arras used the Boves to store wine and food - and seek refuge in times of war. |
Grand Place and Place de Héros - two charming market squares with beautiful arcades and buildings in Flemish Baroque style. A market takes place each Wednesday and Saturday morning in Grand Place as well as a flea market on Sunday. |
| Bêtises de Cambrai - an excursion to the sweet factory famous for mint-flavoured candies. |
| Historical Sites - the British Memorial and Cemetery, Notre Dame de Lorette French Cemetery, Neuville St Vaast German Cemetery and Mur des Fusillés. |
