Bonding - our tours are operated in line with the E.C. Directive governing package tours. In accordance with Article 7, all the tours are fully bonded for your protection. Our ESCROW Bond 1993 is a Trustee Bond Account that guarantees your financial security. Under the terms of this bond no monies paid to a tour company may be released to that company until the Trustee, in compliance with the law, releases the clients' monies to the tour principal and then only upon the tour's return. Coaches - we use only coaches or vehicles supplied by reputable companies. All coaching is of executive standard with video, w.c., p.a. system and reclining seats with seat belts. |

Routes - we use P & O Stena Line Ltd., and SeaFrance for the crossings from Dover to Calais and P & O Stena Line Ltd., from Portsmouth to Le Havre. Meals on these ferries are not included in the cost of your tour. P & O North Sea Ferries sailing from Hull to Zeebrugge and Rotterdam, provides a much more convenient and comfortable way to travel to the continent for groups from the North. The amount of travelling by coach can be greatly reduced. It is usually possible to depart at a more reasonable hour of the day to board the ferry at 18.15 hrs in the evening. Once on board, your party can relax and enjoy an excellent five-course meal which is included in the cost of your tour. There are a number of other facilities, such as a cinema and two lounge bars, to make your crossing more enjoyable. Accommodation is in economy cabins with washing and toilet facilities nearby. After a night's sleep, either a full English breakfast or Continental breakfast is available before dise
mbarking. A packed lunch is provided for the onward journey on Day 2.

Guides - when you book a tour you have the option of leading the tour yourself or using one of our Guides or Tour Directors to accompany your party for an additional fee of £100 per day (less than £2.50 per student per day). The first and last days are included in this figure. Many teachers who have a familiarity with the locations they are visiting are happy to choose the first option. If you have never visited a particular area our Guides will ensure that you find your way around with the minimum of delay whilst providing an informative commentary. It is
our aim to provide Guides of genuine quality who have a thorough knowledge of the battlefields schools wish to visit. A tour director ensures that everything goes according to plan but does not provide an informed commentary.

Study Booklets - when you confirm a booking, we will send you a Study Booklet for students which you may photocopy. Our booklets have been designed by History teachers with Examining and Moderating experience and reflect current thinking regarding G.C.S.E. and the National Curriculum.

Passports - students under 18 can travel on a collective passport, the cost of which will be discounted from the overall tour price. Groups travelling to France also require identity cards. Party leaders are responsible for ensuring that all members of the party have the correct, valid documentation. Errors or omissions in such documentation may result in individuals or parties being refused entry to the country of their destination. For adults travelling with the party or students using their own passports, a ten-year passport is required for travelling within the European Community. Galina International cannot be held responsible for incorrect, inaccurate or insufficient passport documentation emanating from the educational institution that results in parties being refused entry to a country. |

Travel Insurance - the cost of travel insurance is £2 per person per day. It may well be that your Local Education Authority will be able to better this price and we advise that you consider insuring your students on an LEA policy. The details of the cover provided through the Galina International insurance cover will be sent with your Response Pack. We recommend also that all members of your party obtain an E111 form from their local post office to facilitate medical treatment. |
